Calvin Beldon

Skilled in data analysis, modelling with Excel and Scilab, design of solar PV systems, plumbing and refrigeration systems, and electrical wiring. As a colleague I consider myself a keen team player who is detail oriented and always ready for a new challenge.
My name is Calvin and I am an enthusiastic and driven individual that is passionate about clean energy and the environment. I have a strong analytical skill set and an obsessive desire to save the environment with the implementation of new and exciting technologies.
I am a qualified mechanical engineer with a degree from Stellenbosch University and I have been working in the renewables industry for the last 3 years. I am currently employed at Enel X, a global business leading the transformation of the commercial energy sector, as a Design and Costing Engineer. My responsibilities include but are not limited to: complete system design, costing of the system, and pre-installation analysis to illustrate potential solution output and energy savings.
At my previous place of employment - Energy Partners, through my strong work ethic and attention to detail, I manged to rise quickly through the ranks to the point where I became the Operations and Technical Manager for Energy Partners Home Solutions in Gauteng after only a year in the PV industry. At EP Home Solutions we specialized in residential and small commercial PV systems (up to 200kWp).
I have also developed a number of tools in Excel to assist the sales team in qualifying leads and giving clients high level initial pricing. Another of the tools I have been developing estimates the optimum system design for micro-grid solutions based on the 20 year financial return.
