200% price hike fails to rein bread crisis
An official of the Zimbabwean baker's association reported on Sunday, 14 October, that the government has allowed bakers to raise the price of bread by more than 200%. This comes with the enduring shortages across the country.
According to a senior manager (who asked for anonymity) from one of the country's leading bakeries, Lobels, the hikes were approved by government late Friday.
