Senior Quantity SurveyorA client, based in Stellenbosch, is hiring a senior quantity surveyor. Qualifications and experience:- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field
- Fluent in Afrikaans
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in quantity surveying within the property or construction industry
- Strong knowledge of contract management, cost estimation, and budget management
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Key responsibilities:- Cost estimation and budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for property development projects, including new builds and renovations.
- Contract management: Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure compliance and value for money.
- Project monitoring: Oversee project progress to ensure timely completion within budget, identifying and resolving any financial discrepancies.
- Risk management: Identify potential risks related to costs and contracts, and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Valuation and payments: Conduct valuations of completed work and manage payment processes to contractors and suppliers.
- Feasibility studies: Conduct feasibility studies and financial assessments for potential property developments.
- Cost control: Implement effective cost control measures to minimise waste and optimise resource utilisation.
- Reporting: Provide regular financial reports and updates to stakeholders, detailing project performance and financial status.
