Pope Francis donates to Food and Agriculture Organization

Pope Francis has donated to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in an effort to support drought and conflict-stricken populations in East Africa.

The Pope donated €25,000 to the organisation. The current estimate of people in need of humanitarian assistance in East Africa is approximately 22 million, which is an increase since late 2016.
