Yoh Radio to make its final terrestrial broadcast on 90.7fm
Mitchells Plain community radio station Yoh Radio will make its final terrestrial broadcast on the frequency 90.7fm on 24 January 2019, as its temporary events broadcasting licence expires.
The station has reapplied for the frequency with the goal of supporting voter education in the run-up to the national elections in May. This process could take up to six weeks. Yoh Radio will continue to stream online here.
It is also asking for help to get back on the airwaves from the communities it serves. This can be done by signing its petition or writing a letter of support, which will be sent along with the application to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa).
