Former Cell C exec arrested in connection with R64m scam
Times Live has reported that Mohamed Ismail Adamjee, a former IT manager at Cell C, has been arrested by the Hawks in connection with an alleged tender scam worth R64m. Adamjee is alleged to have colluded with the director of a contracted entity responsible for network services at Cell C from 2012 to 2019.
The alleged fraud and corruption investigation began in 2020 and the Hawks are expecting to arrest more individuals. Adamjee will remain in custody until his next appearance for a bail hearing.
