Paradise lost
Zimbabwe was once a jewel of southern Africa's tourism industry, but no longer.
Abundant wildlife, natural beauty, friendly people, great food... Zimbabwe had it all, and neighbouring countries such as South Africa and Botswana and Zambia had a fight on their hands drawing tourists to their attractions over those offered by South Africa's northern neighbour.
Since the Mugabe regime initiated its land grab of white-owned farms, however, precipitating the total collapse of the economy and infrastructure, Zimbabwe's tourism industry has all but collapsed.
