Who we’re looking for:We seek a dynamic country head to lead our South African operations. This individual should have a proven track record in sales and marketing within the FMCG industry, specifically in food and consumables, and be ready to take on an executive leadership role. What you’ll do:You will oversee and implement high-impact strategies for sales growth and distribution expansion within South Africa. This position requires strong operational leadership to drive market growth, ensure revenue targets are exceeded, and strengthen the organisation’s competitive edge. Key responsibilities:Leadership role: - Set the tone for leadership within the sales department, focusing on team targets, growth opportunities, and product mix improvements.
- Define and implement weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets, ensuring performance meets or exceeds department objectives.
Strategic direction: - Develop and implement sales strategies that align with company objectives, driving revenue growth and optimising market penetration.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop action plans, set key performance indicators (KPIs), and align sales strategies with broader business goals.
Analytics and insights: - Utilise analytics tools to assess sales performance, identifying trends, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct detailed market analyses to forecast trends, providing actionable insights that will enhance sales outcomes and profitability.
Productivity and financial management: - Ensure accurate, data-driven insights are available to support strategic decisions and financial planning across departments.
Cross-departmental collaboration: - Partner with product development, marketing, and other departments to align on product strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to market growth.
- Drive product initiatives from conceptualisation to launch, crafting unique strategies that ensure market success.
Relationship building: - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners and customers, attending workshops, seminars, and networking events to represent and promote the brand.
What you need:- A preferred master’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field, with a solid understanding of FMCG business principles.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in operations, business development, or sales within the FMCG sector.
- A proven track record in sales, marketing, and distribution strategies within FMCG.
- Strong leadership skills with executive presence, excellent analytical ability, and strong cultural sensitivity.
- Proficiency in prioritising, strategising, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Essential skills include change management, adaptability, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, results-driven, teamwork, and self-motivation.
