Our client is seeking an experienced diesel technician with dealership commercial vehicle experience. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Minimum requirements

• Matric or higher qualification.
• Diesel trade certificate.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
• Code 14 driver’s licence with PDP.
• Electrical experience is advantageous.

Job description

• Support the workshop foreman by maintaining positive internal relationships.
• Deliver exemplary performance and manage tasks efficiently.
• Accurately record hours worked, sold, and consumables used, adhering to company policies.
• Maintain a clean workplace and follow PPE requirements for each job.
• Ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act and coordinate hours with the foreman.
• Provide clear and concise feedback to the workshop manager, promoting the company’s reputation.
• Record all lubricants and parts used on job cards, following management processes.
• Build strong relationships with parts staff and comply with FAW SA standards.
• Participate in training, share knowledge, and focus on personal development.
• Maintain professionalism during breakdowns, ensuring preparedness and proper behaviour.
• Follow road rules, ensuring vehicles are clean and presentable.
• Foster positive relationships with peers, apprentices, and colleagues. Mentor and support apprentices effectively.
• Ensure accurate warranty claims with the 3 C’s: complaint, cause, and correction.
• Adhere to health and safety rules and encourage compliance within the team.
