Repair Shop Assistant

Our client is looking for a dedicated and motivated repair shop assistant to join their fast-paced service team based in Johannesburg South. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting skilled technicians and ensuring the smooth operation of the repair shop.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the service team with daily repair shop operations, including maintaining organisation and cleanliness.
• Help with receiving, storing, and organising parts, tools, and equipment.
• Support technicians by assisting with basic repairs and maintenance tasks when necessary.
• Maintain inventory control, ensuring parts and supplies are adequately stocked.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting customers when needed.
• Support vehicle movement within the shop and ensure proper documentation of service orders.
• Ensure all health and safety standards are adhered to, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in an automotive repair shop is preferred but not required.
• Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to take direction and work well within a team.
• A basic understanding of automotive parts and repairs is a plus.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry items of varying weights.
• Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
