Database Specialist

Our client, a prestigious organisation within the oil and gas industry, is seeking an experienced database specialist to join their innovative data team on a 2 - 4-year contractual basis. Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and manage high-performance SQL Server databases.
• Build and maintain data models to support business intelligence and analytics.
• Perform database tuning for optimal efficiency and performance.
• Work on Data Warehousing and DataVault architecture (certification required).
• Implement ETL processes and ensure smooth data integration from multiple sources.
• Leverage Machine Learning techniques using Python to extract insights and improve data-driven decisions.
• Create impactful data visualizations to present complex datasets in a clear, meaningful way.

Qualifications and experience:

• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience as a Database Specialist or similar role.
• Advanced expertise in SQL Server, data modeling, and database performance tuning.
• Proven experience with Data Warehouse/DataVault methodologies (certification required).
• Proficiency in Python for machine learning and data analysis.
• Strong skills in ETL development and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
• Ability to translate complex data requirements into effective technical solutions.
