Snr Lecturer - Data and Colour Grading

Roles and responsibilities

The incumbent will be an excellent organiser and communicator with a proactive, highly professional and friendly attitude. The incumbent will have the multi-tasking ability and flexibility to work in this dynamic and ever-evolving environment, and will work well with prioritising under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

The following tasks are expected to be fulfilled:

Administration:
  • Teaching in digital media management with an expert understanding of workflows, cameras formats, codecs and content delivery specifications
  • Digital footage management
  • Teaching in colouring grading for visual content using Davinci Resolve with an expert knowledge and experience using all the functions in Davinci Resolve including fusion
  • Knowledge of networking and management of Nas servers
  • Oversight of post-production assessments
  • Postproduction schedule management
  • Assist in editing department with administration
  • Assist in marking data grading academic and practical assignments
  • Technical assistance in motion picture school when needed
Key competencies
  • Relevant administrative experience
  • Understanding of tertiary education requirements and understanding of a research/practical environment
  • Proficient in Davinci Resolve (pref has completed the Black Magic Davinci Resolve End User Certification)
  • Proven experience in colour grading within Davinci Resolve
  • Extensive knowledge in digital workflows including the understanding of Codecs
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with digital cameras and on set digital media management
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Microsoft Office Package(I.e Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams)
  • Excellent professional communication (English) and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of networking and Server management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Selection criteria:
  • Hons or masters preferable / NQF Level 8 Qualification
  • Industry and / or knowledge of the film/television and / or performance industries
  • Davinci Resolve End User Certification
