AFDA is inviting applications for the position of
data and grading lecturer.Roles and responsibilitiesThe incumbent will be an excellent organiser and communicator with a proactive, highly professional, and friendly attitude. The role requires multi-tasking ability, flexibility, and the capacity to prioritise under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic and ever-evolving environment.
Key tasks include- Teaching digital media management and colouring for visual content
- Oversight of post-production assessments
- Management of post-production schedules
- Assisting in the data grading and editing department with the administration
- Assisting in marking data and grading academic and practical assignments
- Providing technical assistance in the motion picture school as needed
Key competencies- Relevant administrative experience
- Understanding of tertiary education requirements and a research/practical environment
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (preferably with Black Magic DaVinci Resolve End User Certification)
- Proven experience in colour grading within DaVinci Resolve
- Extensive knowledge of digital workflows, including codecs
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with digital cameras and on-set digital media management
- Comprehensive understanding of the Microsoft Office package (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
- Excellent professional communication (English) and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills

Selection criteria- NQF level eight qualification
