We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our close-knit team as a social media coordinator. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality 360 digital campaigns for some of the biggest and most loved brands in South Africa and beyond.

Role summary

The social media coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing social media campaigns in line with brand strategy. You will work with internal teams, external suppliers, and clients to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively. This role includes handling briefs, managing deliverables, staying updated on social media trends, interpreting data, and applying insights to client campaigns.

Responsibilities

Client service
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Manage creative briefs, client feedback, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and update status reports.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations.
  • Handle client and supplier billing when necessary.
Content and channel planning
  • Conduct research on consumer, competitor, and social trends.
  • Develop communication plans and manage social posting schedules.
  • Create and oversee content calendars with best practices in mind.
Content and channel administration
  • Assist with the production of content for social media.
  • Collaborate with creative, paid media, and other departments.
  • Schedule and deactivate content across channels.
  • Maintain clients' creative content bibles and ensure effective tagging/tracking.
Content and channel performance management
  • Work with strategy teams to integrate efforts effectively.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and live performance checks.
  • Manage creative identities, templates, and spec sheets for campaigns.
Department integration
  • Establish partnerships and collaborate with key stakeholders, including social media platforms, paid media agencies, influencer management teams, and emerging technology developers.
Requirements

Qualifications
  • Relevant degree in advertising, marketing, social media, or communication science.
  • Proactive social certifications (intermediate to advanced).
  • Advantageous: Google Analytics certification or similar training.
Experience
  • Experience in social media management and/or agency environments.
  • Understanding of both classical and digital marketing.
  • Experience with retail brands is a plus.
Technical skills and knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in digital and social media marketing channels.
  • Knowledge of social media tools (e.g., HootSuite, Falcon Social, Brandwatch).
  • Familiarity with influencer management platforms and reporting tools.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
