The award function recognises excellence in the Exhibition Industry of Southern Africa and also includes awards for Best Venue, Best Stand Designers, Best Suppliers, Best Organiser and other individual awards.

Cape Homemaker Expo is part of the Homemakers Media Holdings group, publishers of direct response magazines Homemakers Fair, homeTALK and Complex Living. Annually nine Homemakers Expos are presented which attract in excess of 3 000 exhibitors and 230 000 visitors.
