Gill Moodie (@grubstreetSA) has worked as a reporter, sub-editor and middle manager in the print industry in various cities in South Africa, including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

She once managed the first-ever Russian Guinness Book of Records (in Cyrillic) for Guinness Publishing in London with a team of vodka-fueled copy editors in Moscow.

In South Africa, she has worked as a general news reporter, a business reporter and sub-editor for the Sunday Times, Business Day and the Daily Dispatch. At the latter, she was the features editor and also edited a community paper for the rural Transkei and a paper for East London's Mdantsane township.

She is now based in the unlikely town of East London in the Eastern Cape, where she is a freelance journalist, media commentator and the publisher of Grubstreet (www.grubstreet.co.za).
